Is there a refund if I cancel or my NIE cannot be obtained?
It depends on how far the work has gone. If you cancel before you have provided your documents or before an appointment is confirmed, the fee is refunded in full. Once the application has been prepared or the appointment scheduled, half the fee is refunded, because that work has already been done; the same applies if the application is refused after that point.
